About Me

Early in my career I worked for a respected bond trading firm in New York. While this was a valuable initiation to the financial markets, I felt the need to connect with people on a more personal level. I returned to graduate school and subsequently began preparing for the Certified Financial Planner™ certification, the most comprehensive planning accreditation in the industry. I earned the Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2006.

On my way to earning that designation, I discovered financial life planning. The core of financial life planning is a commitment to helping people reach their personal financial and life goals. It is a deliberate departure from traditional, transaction-based financial management. This theme struck a powerful chord with me. It offered a way to bridge the gap between the vagaries of the financial markets and what matters most in peoples’ lives – their individual goals and values.

My introduction to Wealthcare and to its unique planning process cemented my commitment to financial life planning. I joined Wealthcare in 2012 so that I could provide objective, goals-based planning to families.

I am a graduate of Lehigh University (B.S. 1994), Cornell University (M.B.A. 1999) and the College for Financial Planning (2006).

I live and work in East Dorset, Vermont, at the base of the Green Mountains. My wife, Holly, is a writer and designer in the field of health literacy and is also a freelance graphic designer. We have three children, aged 12, 18, and 20. Their many talents include art, athletics, pet care, parental negotiation, and culinary evaluation.

I am a passionate fisherman, a wing shooter, and an occasional athlete. I am a frequent blood donor (8 gallon pin earned) and a registered bone marrow donor. I spent my high school summers as the lowest man on a professional auto racing team. Working for Holbert Racing taught me lessons about people, teamwork, and attention to detail that I still carry with me today.

I have served on the boards of the The Dorset School, The Dorset Parent Volunteers, The American Museum of Fly Fishing, United Counseling Services of Bennington County, and The East Dorset Fire District. I have also filmed and produced video content for GNAT-TV, our local community access station.
